Introduction
I am an international airline Captain; I fly the Boeing 767 Extended Range aircraft to Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and occasionally Hawaii. I would like to take you on some trips with me - at least allowing you to read about them.
With the help of web-site design guru Scott Blitstein of eSeMBe Technical Services, we designed a site that not only informs you about my law practice, but will also allow me to pass on travel information to some of the more interesting places on our planet. With each of my layovers in different cities, a new adventure arises, new places are discovered, and new places to eat are found. I hope my writing about them might be useful to you in your travels or dreams.
I live an interesting life—I am excited about both of my occupations as a lawyer and pilot. The law allows me to help others. I believe to whom much has been given much is expected. I can give back by helping others achieve their goals legally. Flying gives me freedom and joy. I have been blessed by being trained by the U.S. Navy and then working for a great airline. The knowledge, insight, wisdom, and experience I have received from both fields have been tremendous. I hope to share that excitement with you.
I travel out of country three or four times per month. My trips out-of-country last anywhere from one day to nine days (although I avoid trips over 6 days for a number of reasons). The layovers (airline parlance for overnight stays) last from 13 hours on the short end to around 72 hours on the long side. I bid monthly along with other pilots for the trips; the awarding of those trips is based on seniority. The most senior pilot in my category gets his choice, the next gets what is left until the last pilot is awarded a line of time (or is placed on reserve to cover trips at the company’s convenience).
So, every month I will travel from Atlanta Georgia to several foreign cities for both work and play. I like to explore each city—its people, art, architecture, food, and history. It has been a passion of mine since I first stepped foot on Barbados as an ensign in the Navy (that island was my first port of call). My hope is to pass on to you some tidbits about different cities and countries; information you can use in your travel plans and entertainment.
I welcome feedback and suggestions. Please use the contact tab to send me your thoughts and recommendations. I am open to all new ideas. I think this part of my web site will be fun and offer excursions outside of the legal environment. So, stay tuned within the next few days and the weeks thereafter for new posts about my travels throughout our great and exciting world.
